Leighton Asia, India and Offshore (LAIO) leverages comprehensive sector expertise and geographic diversity to deliver a full suite of civil engineering and infrastructure, contract mining, building, marine and offshore oil and gas services as a leading construction and mining service provider in Asia, India and the global offshore market. 

In a move to align our capabilities, Leighton Asia, India and Offshore has established a Construction Pre-Contracts Team in Kuala Lumpur to support further growth in the South East Asian region. This is one of the LAIO’s initiatives to reinforce our strategy and vision to be the leading construction contractor in Asia.

To achieve this, we are seeking suitably qualified and experienced individuals of the highest caliber, to join our team of professional at our head office in Kuala Lumpur:

Senior Estimators/ Estimators
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering/ Building/ Quantity Surveying.
-At least 5-8 years experience working within Estimating Departments in Construction/ Building/ Infrastructure covering a wide variety of civil and building estimating.
-Experienced first principles estimator and demonstrated proficiency using proprietary estimating software.
-In depth understanding of construction methodology covering civil infrastructure & building and with a track record of successful tenders.
-Experience in dealing with industry suppliers and subcontractors on commercial and technical matters.
-A good knowledge of Microsoft Office and estimating/ tendering systems.

Assistant Estimators/ Quantity Surveyors
-Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying/ Building/ Civil Engineering
- 3-5 years experience working within Estimating Departments in Construction/ Building/ Infrastructure covering a wide variety of civil and building estimating.
-Possess strong analytical skills and an in-depth understanding of the estimating process.
-Ability to support estimators with day-to-day functions including measurement, subcontractor evaluation, pricing and price analysis.
-Proficient in MS Office, Excel and preferably some experience in the use of proprietary estimating software.
-Good measuring skills/ pre-contract quantity surveying skills.

Senior Planner/ Planner
-Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent.
- 3-8 years experience working in project and estimating/ tendering activities.
-In depth understanding of construction methodology covering civil infrastructure & building activities.
-Demonstrate proficiency using Primavera 6 software and preferably some knowledge of MS Project.
-Ability to program and understand multiple trade activities.
-Must be capable of prioritizing, multi-tasking and working to agreed schedules.

Assistant Planner (Scheduler)
-Diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent.
-2-3 years experience in project and estimating/tendering activities.
-Site experience on a variety of project within Construction or Building.
-Previous tendering experience an advantage.
-Demonstrated proficiency using Primavera 6 software.
-Ability to program and understand multiple trade activities.
-Must be capable of prioritizing, multi-tasking and working to agreed schedules.

Technical Support Staff (to assist with Tender and Bid submissions)
-Diploma in relevant discipline e.g. Business Administration or similar.
-Strong administrative skills are essential with at least 2-3 years experience working within document control ideally tenders.
-Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office, in particular Excel and PowerPoint.
-Knowledge of estimating/ tendering systems is an advantage but not essential.

Senior Engineer
-Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering/ Building or equivalent.
-4-7 years experience in a similar or related capacity and exposure in project and tendering activities.
-In depth knowledge of a variety of construction techniques.
-Able to review tender documents, prepare construction methodologies/ sequencing and write method statements.
-Able to perform temporary works design and tender design sufficient for quantity take-offs and pricing.
-Proficient in the use of proprietary design software, AutoCAD and MS Office.
-Able to prioritize and handle multiple projects and work in a fast paced environment.

Engineer
- Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
-1-3 years relevant working experience in Construction/ Building.
-Able to perform temporary works design and tender design sufficient for quantity take-offs and pricing.
-Working knowledge of proprietary design software, AutoCAD.

AutoCAD Operator
-Diploma or relevant engineering qualifications.
-3-5 years of relevant working experience covering civil engineering and building.
-A thorough knowledge of AutoCAD 12 is essential; a good working knowledge of Microstation is an advantage.
-High level of competence in 3D drafting, with knowledge of Revit or similar software.

Bid Preparation Coordinator
-Diploma/ Degree in Business Administration or a relevant discipline.
-5-8 years relevant working experience in bid & tender preparation is preferred.
-Demonstrated ability to collate, compile and finalize required documentation to meet tenders or pre-qualification submission deadlines.
-Ability to work under minimum supervision.
-Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

The ability to communicate fluently in English (both verbal & written) 
Possess the necessary interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence, interact and negotiate comfortably at all levels with employees and external takeholders.
Have the flexibility to travel and complete short assignments in other South East Asian countries.
Be enthusiastic and highly motivated, and able to work independently with minimum support/ supervision.
Possess a sound knowledge of the full Microsoft Office suite as well as other software program relevant to the role.
Be a team player with the ability to work within tight time frames and to very short deadlines.
