Rotary Equipment Specialist
Job Description:
As a Rotary Equipment specialist, you will be a part of the Regional Reliability Engineering Team. Your key role would be to help ensure that all rotary machines are maintained using best practice maintenance strategies that result in required reliability performance of plant machinery and systems at optimal cost.
Principal responsibilities
• Primary focus on in-house operations and maintaining of existing machinery.
• Bring in-house expertise in the maintenance of rotary machines including expansion turbines throughout the Region. Train the local maintenance staff on the maintenance best practices to the level of OEM engineers.
• Optimize/ reduce maintenance spend on spares through assessing the condition of ex-service components, reconditioning removed components etc.
• Take care of emergent events and supervise rectification of failed equipment including engineering management of change (MOC) compliance, key decision making and determination of root cause etc.
• Working with regions, individual plants, RE, Remote Operating Centre (ROC) and Power Engineering (PE) teams, establish a quarterly Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) managed comprehensive key equipment health review process and report on developing issues, changes in status, and recommended actions and mitigation (include vibration, oil, catalyst, thermography, cooler approach, machine efficiency, cooling system)
• Maintain a data base of CBM best practice by plant category and equipment type, including both technical scope and business practice.
• Provide a monthly management report on CBM activities
Levels of engagement
• Work with the country / site maintenance teams to make sure that the rotary machines are maintained as per the best practices.
• Work with global team of rotary machine experts to identify and implement the areas of improvements and a global CBM strategy.
• Work with Procurement to ensure maximum leverage and support is obtained with regards to overall Condition Based Monitoring (CBM) vendor spend and execution support.
• Working with Business Development / Project execution to provide expert advice on new opportunities/ projects.
Required key skills
• Hands-on experience on rotary machine maintenance. Strong condition based monitoring experience including centrifugal compressors, large electric drive motors, gas turbines, refrigeration systems, steam systems, pumps, general mechanical systems such as adsorption systems/dryers and electrical installations.
• In depth knowledge of predictive and preventative maintenance techniques including the use of computerized maintenance management systems (EAM / Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to manage these processes
Required qualifications/experience
• Minimum 15 years experience on maintenance of rotary machines including big and small centrifugal compressors, steam turbines, expansion turbines, pumps etc.
• Strong analytical, quantitative, leadership and influencing skills.
• Good communication skills.
